You may have heard about or watched that incredible volleyball spectacle at Memorial Stadium and maybe heard that at least 100 previous NU players came back for a huge reunion! It was an incredible event, set a world attendance record any women’s sport and put our state in the spotlight! What many of you may not know is that our own Denise Stange was on the very first intercollegiate NU volleyball team and won a scholarship as a senior. She is quoted in the article and is pictured in the team photo! The article goes on to say that, because of lack of record keeping, the three 1974 seniors including Denise, have never been recognized with a varsity letter. They are apparently still trying to correct this oversight and let’s hope Denise finally gets her letter!
